What is shell?
shell is an experimental open product framework for NFTs.
Itโs a public protocol that letโs anyone launch stateful and dynamic NFT collections powered by hot-swappable community-authored engines.
Engines are smart contracts that determine how NFTs can be minted, how they look, and how they behave. A single engine may be used by multiple shell collections at once.
Think of shell as an NFT operating system: engines are the apps.
NFT owners may create or join an existing fork if they wish to run their NFTs on a different engine. Forked NFTs have access to all stored data from the previous engine.
This allows the community to easily and permissionlessly iterate on the functionality or appearance of their NFTs in the collection.
